Sweet and Sour Chicken

Sweet and Sour Chicken

This was the third time I've made this recipe and it gets better every time.  There's nothing wrong with getting take out from time to time but when you're on a budget it's a splurge that can't be indulged.  This recipe will curb your take out cravings and won't break the bank.

Here's the tally:
2 pounds chicken - $4.33
1 can pineapple - $0.89
1 green bell pepper - $0.63
Broccoli - $0.99
2 eggs - $0.17
Rice - $0.25
-----------------------------------------------------------

For a total of $7.26 for 6 servings (that's $1.21 per serving)

I found this recipe on Center Cut Cook so please click HERE to view it.

This recipe is a little labor intensive compared to most of the recipes I make but it's worth it.  An easier, but more costly, way to make this recipe would be to use breaded chicken tenders or nuggets.  It's the sauce that makes this dish so great so substituting the chicken wouldn't change the flavor too much.

So, so good.  I hope you love it as much as we do.
